TEAM BUILDING WORKSHOPS

Based on Noel Tichy's¹ concept of ‘Leader as Teacher’, participants are encouraged to facilitate short workshops for their teams as part of their regular team building activities. The workshop topics are determined by the leader and their Jackson Leadership coach, and are based on the team's immediate training needs. The Jackson Leadership coach helps determine the topic, assists with preparing the presentation, and provides feedback afterwards.

The benefits of this approach to team building are multiple: the content becomes more meaningful when it is delivered by the leader or boss, and employees often invest more energy in learning the material; leaders have the opportunity to practice their formal presentation skills in a safe environment, with team members they know well; teams get to learn new skills with other coworkers who are technically knowledgeable in their area, resulting in a more job-relevant learning experience.
